The Fashion Gallery is very pleased to host ‘LOOK LOOP: Transitional Knitting’, an online exhibition of a collection of textile and fashion designs by Yishu Yan.
Yishu’s study focuses on developing a new design approach for three-dimensional and stretchable textiles using knitting technology. This young designer experiments and uses a digital approach in more than 40 works that simultaneously highlight textile transition and fashion art forms.
Knitwear is being elevated to a new level at which a passion for both art and fashion is exhibited. As such, knitwear affirms our shared conviction and vision that knitted textiles can be successfully and seamlessly merged, and that a creative spirit combined with intellectual vigour and fearlessness are essential for the development and advancement of both designs and commercial products.
May this exhibition enjoy great success. I am confident that Yishu will soar to even greater heights in her future endeavours.

DESIGNER PROFILE 設計師介紹
Yishu Yan is a PhD candidate at the Institute of Textiles and Clothing, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Her research project entitled ‘Transitional Fashion via Digital Knitting’ focuses on developing innovative fashion with stretch-ability and three-dimensional texture through digital knitting. Yishu’s fashion and textile work has been presented in 14 exhibitions/fashion shows and received 6 awards. Her latest fashion design ‘Mermaid Recall’ has been collected by the China National Silk Museum.
