Introduction | 展覽介紹
Having a positive self image (body cathexis) is a vital component to a healthy pregnancy; research indicates that the rapid physical changes which a pregnant woman undergoes over 40 weeks may bring about dissatisfaction with one’s body image thus leading to distorted eating, poor psychological health and potentially affecting labor. Currently, there is an abundance of literature available on female fashion styling yet there is a lack of research which explores styling for pregnant women. Existing styling recommendations are often formulaic without a critical analysis of maternity body shapes. In Blooming Style, the researchers explores and studies maternity body shapes to design a range of fashion designs and provide comprehensive styling recommendations specific to maternity body shapes.
